Celestine and Scheriber Earn NCAA Championships Runner-Up Titles

FORT Well worth, Texas. – University of Missouri gymnastics wrapped up the 2022 period with a fifth-location finish at the NCAA Championship Semifinal Thursday, scoring 197.200 details in the evening session at Dickies Arena. 

Mizzou tallied the highest NCAA complete in program record, rating forward of Alabama, Michigan and Minnesota.

The Tigers rating of 197.200 placed them 3rd in their session with Florida (197.9750) and Auburn (197.8375) advancing to Saturday’s NCAA Ultimate from Session II. Session I took put before Thursday with Oklahoma (198.1125) publishing the leading rating of the fulfill and Utah (197.7125) earning the next progression slot. Minnesota (197.1125), Alabama (197.100) and Michigan (196.2875) all completed powering Mizzou.

Missouri had a pair of nationwide runner-up finishes from sophomore Sienna Schreiber (beam) and freshman Amari Celestine (vault).

Schreiber tied for second on beam with a 9.95, the 2nd-highest rating of the night session – incorporating to her 39.500 overall in the all-about.

Celestine posted a 9.950 on vault, the top rating in the night session and 2nd total. Junior Helen Hu tied for fourth on beam, scoring 9.9375.

  • ROTATION 1 – BARS: The Tigers opened the evening with a 49.1125 on bars, with three scores of 9.8 or bigger. Hu tallied a 9.8875, when Schreiber went 9.825. Senior Alisa Sheremeta tallied a 9.8250. Sophomore Amaya Marshall led things off with a 9.775.

  • ROTATION 2 – BEAM: Schreiber paced Mizzou with a 9.95 on beam as the squad totaled a 49.4250. Sheremeta attained a rating of 9.8750, Marshall garnered a rating of 9.8375 and Hu a 9.9375. Sophomore Sydney Schaffer went 9.8250.

  • ROTATION 3 – Ground: In the 3rd rotation, Missouri totaled 49.4125 on flooring. Celestine, the freshman anchor, led the staff with 9.925. Schreiber and Sheremeta both garnered a score of 9.8875. Hannah McCrary posted 9.8750 and freshman Jocelyn Moore tallied a 9.8375.

  • ROTATION 4 – VAULT: Mizzou closed the session with a powerful effectiveness on vault, earning a 49.150 on the apparatus. Celestine once yet again led the way with a 9.950. Moore tallied a 9.8875, when Schreiber experienced a 9.8375. Moreover, freshman Grace Anne Davis scored 9.800.
